What 1 Thing Would Explode Your Business?

What 1 Thing Would Explode Your Business?

What one thing would explode your business.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live coming to you every day from Grants Pass Oregon.

Today we’re going to discuss what is the one thing that would totally blow your business out of the water in a good way. What would make it completely explode and give you a whole lot of momentum to be able to run off of. There’s one example I wanted to bring up with you and this is an example that came up in conversation with Justin Lair and John DeSpain of Fiber Light Fire Starters.

Fiber Light Fire Starters is a company out of Klamath Falls, which is not that far away here from Grants Pass. And I got to know them because they were at The Mother Earth News Fair in Albany, Oregon that I went to. We’ve got all of these episodes on The Off The Grid Biz Podcast interviewing people that we met there.

Well we didn’t meet them there, but we’re told about them afterwards. Janice Cox of Natural Home At Home told us about them and so we track them down and got an interview with them.

Found out what brought them to that same spot and found out a whole bunch about their business experience and how they’ve built up this one product business into multiple products and into a growing business.

One of the amazing concepts that Justin brought out was this idea that they, they had a huge boom as soon as they found the way to get into subscription boxes.

Now do you know what subscription boxes are?

These are those things that you subscribe to in a certain topic and you get a box over and over again every month, usually it’s monthly, and you get a box in the mail with whole bunch of products from different companies that have to do with that one subject.

I can’t remember all the different names for all the ones out there, but one of the most popular ones that I’ve heard of is the one that people use who are into doodling and scribbling and art.

So they’ll get one that has all these artistic things in it that you could use.

I’m sorry, I don’t know. I don’t know the terms or anything. And it’s late, so my brain’s not working.

But you get the idea, these subscription boxes you buy, you get on a monthly basis and they come in the mail with a whole bunch of stuff.

The subscription boxes, nothing more. In most cases, many of these, they don’t make anything of their own. Most of the time they find other companies that are producing products in that niche and they get new materials to be able to into their boxes and then the boxes get sent on to the people who are subscribing.

It’s a great concept in general.

Justin and John got into all got their fire starter products into all of the subscription boxes having to do with outdoors and here’s why it’s important and here’s how they were able to find it.

They knew who their audience was, they knew who their ideal audience was.

If you know who your ideal audience is and if they happen to have subscription boxes, like there’s many, many outdoors subscription boxes.

I can’t remember the number that Justin told me, but go listen to the episode where he discusses this.

The fact that they understood who their ideal market was allowed them to find this area that most people wouldn’t even think of as these subscription boxes and be able to get in to them and that allowed them to find their crowd. So who is your crowd? If you know who your crowd is, if you know what your niche is, if you know the people that love your product or service or would enjoy it, find out how to get to them more often.

They were able to find subscription boxes.

It’s a great way to be able to introduce themselves to new people.

They also found that trade shows worked out really well.

Trade shows the ones that worked out the best for the ones that were specifically in the outdoors niche. So these are all concepts and ideas, but it all comes back to the who, I was having this discussion with my friend Vinny earlier today.

It all starts with the who.

The more you understand who your audience is, the easier it is to figure out how to get to them and what to say to them and really what to sell them. You know, whether it’s services or products.

If you’re going to be expanding your line at all, the most important piece to know is the who your market, who is your market, who are they?

Go listen to that episode with Justin and John.

It’s great.

It’s one of the latest episodes on there, at the time of this recording. Go and listen to it at OffTheGridBiz.com, the direct link is in the description.

And if you’d like to be able to sit back and really study the who from from another person’s perspective of your business and really be able to to pin that down and be able to expand how you get to them. Then let’s talk.

Go to BrianJPombo.com and click on the How to Grow My Business. Or if you’re in the self-reliance field, like Justin and John, go and check out DreamBizChat.com. That link is also in the description, and that happens has to do with the dream business transformation.

You’ll learn all about it by going to that site, so hope you have a great diet. Get out there and let the magic happen.

Life Goals Relate to Business Profits?

Life Goals Relate to Business Profits?

So how do your life goals relate to your business profits?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Today we’re going to be discussing a conversation that I had on my podcast with Rick & Elara Bowman of Backyard Green Films. And you can listen to that conversation, it’s been split up into two episodes over at offthegridbiz.com.

The links are in the description to those two episodes, part one and part two.

That’s Rick & Elara Bowman.

Now they have started up a company called Backyard Green Films and they produce films straight out of their backyard.

I mean, it’s all done homemade. It’s all done with all their own equipment. Self-funded where they’re building documentaries.

They’ve already made documentaries before.

Right now they’re in the process of finishing up this documentary on the Holstein Dilemma, which is….well, I won’t ruin it for you.

Go and listen to the podcasts about that conversation where they actually discuss what their whole movie is about.

But the piece I wanted to bring to you here today is their concept of real life goals.

How they’ve created a whole lifestyle and it isn’t what many people would consider absolutely ideal.

It’s not about the ideal amount of money that you bring in or the perfect life.

It is more like what do we want to do?

What would be the funnest thing to do?

What would be the most fulfilling thing to do in our life and how can we do that and still hit all the practical points that we know we have to do. We gotta be able to pay the bills, gotta be able to do all those things.

How do we do that and make this work?

They’ve found a way to be able to do it and it’s not about making a certain amount of money.

It’s about having the certain lifestyle that you’re after.

I think that’s one of the most inspiring messages that they bring to these two episodes that they fill up over at offthegridbiz.com. It’s the Off the Grid Biz Podcast.

Go and listen to those two episodes and I think it’ll give you a perspective of how you can design your life.

Don’t get caught up on a specific number of how much money you need to make every month.

Yeah, that can be helpful in terms of the long run, but in the short run, you gotta be willing to work within the parameters of what you got in front of you and we’ve only got a short period of time here on earth.

You gotta work with what you’ve got and still be able to make a difference and still do what you’re passionate about and get out there and travel and do what all the things that you want to do.

It doesn’t take a million dollars, multi-millions of dollars to do some amazing things with your life and these are two people that are doing some incredible things.

I got to meet them over at the Mother Earth News Fair, in Albany, Oregon, where we got to meet so many people.

This is part of the series that we’ve put out all on the Mother Earth News Fair. People that we met there and all their interesting stories and how all of that relates back to business and it can be helpful to you, so go and listen to that audio.

You know, within the next week I’m going to be discussing some other really cool things that don’t have anything to do with the podcast.

One of them is a movie that I just finished tonight.

Now if you happen to have Netflix, I’m going to suggest you watch a movie called, and this is funny.

It’s called, Dolomite Is My Name.

This is with Eddie Murphy in it.

If you go and you watch this, it is based on a true real life story of somebody that came from nothing and built an entire persona and built an entire business out of it.

I’ve got to talk about how this relates back to your business.

Now, just to warn you, it’s extremely vulgar.

It’s extremely outrageous and not for kids, but if you can handle that, go and watch, Dolomite Is My Name and we’re going to be talking about that next week.

So I’ll give you some time to watch it.

I don’t want to have any spoilers, but it’s based on a true story and I think it’s actually inspiring and there’s a lot of great lessons in there that you can use and fit directly back into your business.

So if you’d like to be able to work with me and be able to talk some more about how these principles fit into your business, go to BrianJPombo.com and look at the options there.

Also, if you are in the self-reliance field, like Rick & Elara are, go to DreamBizChat.com. That link is also in the description DreamBizChat.com.

We’ll give you the chance to have a free Dream Business Transformation with me only. Take 60 minutes.

Go and check that out over at DreamBizChat.com.

Hey, come on back. Every day I’m doing these daily videos where we discuss another principle, another strategy, or another tactic on how to be able to stand out with your business.

I’m happy to have you here and we’ll see you next time.

Get out there and let the magic happen.

Can Corn Man Show You How To Stand Out?

Can Corn Man Show You How To Stand Out?

Can the Corn Man show you how to stand out?

I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live.

Today I’m going to tell you a little bit about this fellow here. This is Charles Wiley.

I got to interview on a very special episode of the Off the Grid Biz Podcast.

There’s a link in the description here.

Go and listen to it. It’s really cool. He’s a cool guy.

We got to meet him over in Albany, Oregon. When we went for the Mother Earth News Fair earlier this year.

Charles Wiley though, really interesting guy.

This is a musician who has done music his entire life, grew up in a musical family and is dealing with the fact that the music industry is completely falling apart and transforming.

Really it’s transformed into something completely different than it was when many of us were younger.

It’s in the process still of transforming. It still hasn’t completely found its base.

At one point you would put out an album, you would get it played on radio stations.

People would go out, purchase the album and that’s how you would make money. You’d also make money doing concerts and going on tour and selling merchandise and things of that sort, that whole model has completely fallen over and gone on in a million different directions.

Music just isn’t what it used to be.

It’s a different industry and Charles didn’t just sit back and suck his thumb. He decided he was going to do something about it.

He was going to try to stand out.

How did he stand out?

He created something called the Corn Man.

What is the corn man?

The corn man is a children’s book. It’s a musical album.

It is an audio reading of the album put out in pieces over time.

The Corn Man goes on and on and on, it keeps becoming something different.

It’s a coloring book.

It’s, it’s multiple things.

Go and listen to that episode on OffTheGridBiz.com, link is in the description, for that specific episode where I interview Charles Wiley, the Corn Man.

He could tell you all about standing out.

It’s all about differentiation.

It’s all about being different than everyone else in your field.

It’s being different from anyone else out there and learning how to stand out and we have a great discussion as far as that goes on that podcast.

Go and listen to it.

If you’re looking to stand out, if you’re looking to take your business and really stand out, if you’re in the space that I discuss called the self-reliance space, meaning you help people become more self-reliant either through nutrition like Charles or talking about overall health or you’re helping people to become more self reliant with their resources or you’re helping people to grow their own food or what have you, go to DreamBizChat.com

DreamBizChat.com is all for business owners that are in the self-reliance field.

Hi Joe.

I see that, we’ve got some people watching us live here on Facebook, but we’re broadcasting all over the place and just bringing you more messages of how to take your business and really stand out.

Put yourself out there, be different than everybody else, and if you want to learn how to do it specifically, like I said, DreamBizChat.com that link is also in the description.

Tomorrow we’re going to be talking about goals and how they fit everything.

So you have a great night.

Joe, Gio, great seeing you and we will talk to you tomorrow night.

Y’all have a great night. Get out there and let the magic happen.

What Does “Success” Mean?

What Does "Success" Mean?

So what does success mean?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live coming to you live from Las Vegas of all places and today we’re going to be talking a little bit about the meaning of the word success.

First, I would just like to implore you, if you are a business owner or an executive that’s in the self reliance field, meaning you have products and services that help people to become more self-reliant. You’re someone I’d like to talk to. Go to DreamBizChat.com link is in the description, but you can type it in yourself. DreamBizChat.com there’s an eight and a half minute video on that site. It’s all free. You go watch it. I’m not even going to put a cookie on your page so that you just keep seeing ads for me or anything like that. There no ads currently on that page, but go and check it out.

If you’re interested in what I’m talking about on that page, it’s a chance to be able to talk to me directly about you and your business.

Where are you?

Where do you see yourself going?

So go to DreamBizChat.com and check it out. Let me know what you think.

Success. You could go and look up the definition. I don’t have it right here in front of me. Go look up the definition and Google of what success means, but it’s a pretty relative definition. It really is. I think a lot of us especially if you, if you’re in America, you may have a very standard view of success. It may revolve around money, it may revolve around prosperity, but really success is completely relative term. If you really think about it so much so that it really doesn’t have a good definition.

There’s a preacher that I know of that I heard talk about this before and he said that success doesn’t exist. And when you have something that’s so loosely defined as success, then it’s kind of true. It doesn’t really exist. It isn’t a specific thing. But you can always define it. You can always call it whatever you want and do you, and it can be whatever you want it to be. In the end.

Success is where you view yourself going in life and what would be a positive outcome?

Are you already successful?

What would make you more successful?

Is Success a destination?

These are all questions you have to ask yourself and I know I’m kind of bouncing all over the place, but it’s because I had an interview with like a fellow who’s relatively new to the business world, relatively new to owning a business.

His name is Scott Smith. He owns Earth2Earth, compost pails. This is an invention that he came up with himself. He based it off of things that people had already done for themselves, but he is one that created something that he took out, had it patented and is trying to sell as many of these little compost buckets as much as possible.

It’s very, very interesting and it’s a great conversation because there’s a guy that comes from construction. He has a very plain spoken way of speaking, very direct and to the point, but at the same time he’s a little bit of a philosopher and he’s realized that success isn’t necessarily about how much money you make, it’s about the lifestyle you make.

It’s about having something to build off of, having a direction that you’re taking life in. And he’s definitely doing that. It’s a great talk. Go and listen to it. The link is in. The description is named Scott Smith. This is the Off The Grid Biz Podcast is where I interviewed him.

So go and check it out.

Tomorrow we’re going to be talking about another podcast, another interview that I put out, and I’m going to be talking about kind of the, the ideas behind it. If you found any of this interesting, go to DreamBizChat.com.

Otherwise we’re gonna see you tomorrow and I’ll still probably be here in Nevada even though I’ll be flying around. So maybe I’ll be in a different state. Who knows?

We’ll catch you tomorrow, have a good night and get out there and let the magic happen.

Physical Side is Business

Physical Side is Business

https://offthegridbiz.com/mother-earth-news-fair-2019-recap/

Let’s talk about the physical side of business.

Hi I’m Brian J. Pombo welcome to Brian J. Pombo Live coming to you from Las Vegas, Nevada. Of all places. That’s right.

We’re going to be talking about events. This is only fitting being that I am at a an event, a convention style event right now, and it’s funny how when you’re at an event, especially way outside of the normal place that you would normally be, Las Vegas is quite a distance from Grants Pass Oregon.

When you’re at an event time seems to not work the same way and you don’t behave in the same way you would in any other time. You don’t think the same way. You’re very outside of your element. There’s an advantage to that. When you’re in business, you’re putting on an event.

You can get people to do things, say things, talk about things they normally wouldn’t do, so there’s an advantage, especially on the business end of things. But when you’re the consumer, when you’re on the consumer end or you’re somewhere in between a business to business end of things, sometimes things get switched up mixed up and all the rest.

It’s for this reason that I missed yesterday’s daily talk that we have together here on Brian J. Pombo Live, and I apologize. Today I’m coming back to you with two episodes. This first episode is all about events.

It’s very specific because we put out a podcast earlier this month where it’s only me and Sean E. Douglas, podcast producer extraordinar where we’re sitting and talking about the Mother Earth News Fair.

This is part of the whole recap for the 2019 Mother Earth News Fair extravaganza that we went through. So go and listen to that podcast. It’s episode 20 minutes. I’ve got the link in the description also in the description.

If you’re a business owner or executive that’s in the self-reliance space, you’re going to want to go check out DreamBizChat.com and it’ll tell you more about it when you get there. It’s just a quick video.

You don’t need to add in your email or anything else. Just go watch the video. Tell me what you think. So go and listen to this episode.

It’s only me and Sean talking, no interview or anything of that sort. It’s just very simple. What you’re seeing right now, if you’re watching this on video or hearing via podcast, is a very tired individual. I’m up early today. I’m going to go get some breakfast, get out there and get involved in a live physical event, whatever industry you’re in, find an event that you can plug into.

There are so many benefits and we talk about that from a business perspective on that podcast. Oh, very similar to how we’re talking in the interviews that we’ve had with speakers and experts and exhibitors from the Mother Earth News Fair. You’ve got to start digging into this.

There’s so much value from physical connection. Even if you have an electronic store, you know, if you’re just on a website doing e-commerce or you have a local business, there are huge advantages to physically meeting up with your clientele or potential clientele.

Even if you don’t get any new business, being able to interact with them one on one in a convention, an expo, any type of live event. Even to the extent of a smaller life events, local live events, a farmer’s market, a growers market, anything that’s very quick and easy to get to.

It doesn’t have to cost you a bunch of money, but get out there and meet your clients. Press the flesh, shake some hands, get to know them as people.

The physical world is out there. Don’t ignore it because your competitors more than likely are tomorrow. Well not tomorrow. Later today, I’m going to bring you another episode and what we’re going to talk about while your guests is as good as mine, so have a great one.

Get out there and let the magic happen.

Comfort Zone Breakthrough

Comfort Zone Breakthrough

Are you looking for a comfort zone breakthrough?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo welcome back to Brian J. Pombo Live. Today coming to you from Portland International Airport. Why am I here? Well, I’m on my way to Las Vegas and figure I’d take this chance on the layover in Portland. Yeah, that’s right. They fly me from Medford, which is south north to Portland and then back south to Las Vegas.

So what are we talking about?

We’re talking about the comfort zone and we’re talking about how to have a real breakthrough because no matter who you are or what personality you have, you’ve got a comfort zone.

You’ve got things that you’re comfortable with doing and things you’re uncomfortable with doing.

How do you break through without setting yourself up for a business that you absolutely despise?

And so I’m going to recommend you go and listen to the two, one of the latest episodes, not the latest.

I’m actually behind on updating you. My audience for our Off The Grid Biz Podcast. Which I like to at least give one episode, a review every time here to kind of introduce some more people to it.

So we have one of the latest ones that came out earlier this month is a fellow by the name of Jeremy Zimmerman.

He is the writer of Make Mead Like a Viking and Brew Beer Like a Yeti. He’s a very interesting writer. As a lot of fun to interview. We had a really great conversation. Go and listen to that podcast.

We’ve got a link in the description for Off The Grid Biz. I believe it’s episode 19 go and check that out. Also, we’ve got…and I could be completely wrong on the number on that….but we’ve got the link down below. Go and listen to that because what Jeremy talks about is he talks about the fact that he’s an introverted person.

It just a naturally introverted personality and he’s had a tough time breaking out, but how did I meet him? I met him at the Mother Earth News Fair that we had talked about before and he was speaking there.

He has written two books. He has spoken at numerous events promoting his book, one at the urging of his publisher and at the urging of multiple other people. He didn’t even want to write books to begin with.

He was not interested in doing that, but he kind of got pushed into it and his whole story is there on Off The Grid Biz. You can find that and more at offthegridbiz.com and like I said, the link to that particular episode is in the description.

Now if you happen to be a business owner or an executive that’s in the self-reliance field, something similar to like the home brewing that Jeremy Zimmerman does, then you’re somebody I’d like to talk to.

Go to DreamBizChat.com. The link is of the description. There’s a video there, eight and a half minutes long going watch it. It’s free. You don’t have to add your email address or anything. Watch the video.

Tell me what you think about it. If you feel like you’d be interested in what I’m talking about on that video, fill out the application and see if you qualify. So like I said, on my way to Vegas, we’ll have another report for you tomorrow from Las Vegas, Nevada.

In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

Would Your Business Survive Armageddon?

Would Your Business Survive Armageddon?

http://DreamBizChat.com

Can Your Business Survive Armageddon?

Hi, I’m Brian Pombo, Welcome back to the Orange Office in Grants Pass, Oregon. Today we’re going to be talking a little bit of emergency preparedness, especially in terms of your business.

Are you a good prepper when it comes to your business?

Have you actually thought of what you were going to do if things really got tough out there? And what, I mean, what do you do with your business? If something really horrible happens, something apocalyptic, let’s say the electrical grid shut down or something of that sort, what would you do?

Well, this was kind of some of the talk of where we were going when we spoke with Michael Foley. He wrote the book, Farming for the Long Haul.

The whole thing’s all about resilience. How do you make things last? How do you make things last pass bad economies?

His whole purpose isn’t directly toward business. He deals a lot with homesteading and farming, but you could take the exact same concept and apply it back to your business. And really ask yourself, are you hitting on all the main points?

Some of the things that he points out is are you involved locally? Is your business, even though you may have an international or national based business, are you involved locally? Do you have a customer base locally that you could depend on if necessary? Do you work one-on-one? Do you have forms of direct sales with people?

All these things are things to keep in mind. We talk about a little bit more they’re on the podcasts. Go and listen to it. Really sharp guy, very educated. He’s spent years as a teacher. He just recently came out with this book.

This is his first book and I think he’d like to come out with more from the way it sounded. We talk a little bit about the book writing process. Talk about public speaking. So if you’re looking at doing either of those things to help propel yourself, your business, your concepts and ideas, you’re going to want to listen to this episode of the Off the Grid Biz Podcast. So go and check it out. The link is in the description. Once again, his name is Michael Foley and he wrote Farming for the Long Haul.

Really good talk that we had there. I really liked it. I got to meet him over at the Mother Earth News Fair this last weekend. So that was lots of fun. In the future, tomorrow we’re going to be switching gears a little bit. We are going to return back to the Mother Earth News Fair and discuss some of the other concepts that we came across there.

Tomorrow we’re going to be discussing something a little bit new.

We’re gonna talk about the psychology behind the relationship and how that ties back in personality and the psychology of that. This is an area we haven’t discussed yet here on the videos.

We’ll probably have a little series of videos where we talk about that tomorrow.

In the meantime, if you are a business owner or an executive and you happened to work in the self-reliance field, meaning you have products or services that help people to become more self reliant and really ties into our conversation here with Michael, go and listen to it. If you feel like any of those things hit for you and you’re looking to really tune up your business, I’m sure you’re doing great.

I only work with successful people really. And so if you already have a successful business, you’re the type of person I’d like to talk to. Because if you have a place you’re looking to go and you’re looking to have someone help you to get there, that understands business, that understands your type of business, a self-reliance based business, go to DreamBizChat.com.

You can also find the link in the description. You can go and click on that. If you happen to be listening to this via podcast and aren’t able to see it, it’s DreamBizChat.com talks all about the dream business transformation on that page. It’s a real simple page. It has a video, eight and a half minute video. Go and watch it.

If you think that you qualify, fill out the application. I’d love to be able to chat with you. So until then, next time, like I said, we’re going to be talking about personalities and psychology tomorrow and how it ties back to your business. So we’ll see you tomorrow.

In the meantime, get out there and let the magic happen.

How Important is Customer Service?

How Important is Customer Service

http://DreamBizChat.com

How important is customer service to Your Business? Hi, I’m Brian Pombo. Welcome back to the Orange Office in Grants Pass, Oregon.

With me today for the first time on these videos is Tyler Pombo, my oldest son, he’s five years old and he is just going to be helping me out a little bit as we talk today about the interview that I had with Chris White.

This fellow right here, he’s from Drip Works. You can find them at dripworks.com and they deal in drip irrigation and he gave a talk over at the Mother Earth News Fair in Albany, Oregon.

I didn’t even get to see his talk, but supposedly it was really good. I talked to him afterwards. He felt good about it and it was an interesting thing because he comes at it from a different angle.

He’s a sales representative for Drip Works and is one of the first people of his position that I’ve actually had on the show.

That was very interesting to come at it from that end and come up with some different questions and everything. I had talked to them about how this worked in the marketing plan for Drip Works.

The one thing he pointed to is that Drip Works has that really makes them stand out in the marketplace is customer service. And so they make sure they have customer service lines. Even though a lot of their stuff is online base, so you go on their site and purchase some of their items.

Everything is made to include people that are brand new to drip irrigation. So they have kits and so forth that you can buy and all these other things.

They have trained people in their customer service so you can call them and ask them if you have an specific issue, what you should be doing, especially if you’re new to the whole thing.

That’s what Chris’s job is. And if you look at it, really everything that he does has to do with customer service. So the whole him being at this show, him giving a speech on why it’s important to have drip irrigation and if you’re interested in having drip irrigation, why you should look into it and ask the pros that know how to do it. All those things, it’s all part of customer service.

It’s all part of being out there and being a real person in this digital world. Oftentimes we want everything to be automated and we forget that you gotta be real. You have to have….everything is one-on-one, everything is relationship reliant.

That’s what I say over and over again when I’m working with my clients and customers and helping them to able to really connect with their customer base and make it completely competition free. Is to really have that one-on-one relationship. So customer service, it’s not only necessary in your businesses necessary in every business to really make you stand out, go and listen to that episode.

I’ve got a link in the description below. Also in the link in the description below or above, depending on where you’re watching this is a a a special link that I talk about every time and all of my videos and it’s specifically for those of you who are owners and executives in the self-reliance field.

If you own a company that helps people in some way or fashion to be more self-reliant, like Drip Works, how they show people how to be more self-reliant, how to do gardening and so on and so forth. If you’re that person, go and go to DreamBizChat.com show them real quick. So what’s that website, Tyler? DreamBizChat.com.

Go to DreamBizChat.com like we said, the link is also in the description. I normally have my little card that I use, but I didn’t have it with me. Yeah, this time it’s a big card. Yeah, big card, that we’re using.

So, DreamBizChat.com go there, check it out. There’s an eight and a half minute video. It’ll explain itself and you can apply and you qualify for the dream business transformation. Go and fill out the application. It’s perfectly free and I love to talk with you.

On the next episode we’re going to be discussing an interview that I had with a very smart individual, somebody who has a long range vision in the field of agriculture and where things are going in terms of homesteading and everything else. How does that apply back to your business?

You’ll find out on the next episode, so we’ll see you tomorrow. In the meantime, get out there, get out there and let the magic happen.

Should you be selling information?

Hi I’m Brian Pombo. Welcome back to the Orange Office in Grants Pass, Oregon. Today we’re going to talk about, another episode from the Off the Grid Biz Podcast that I’m going to encourage you to go and listen to. These to fine people joined me in the Orange Office.

I’ve made references to their podcasts in the past because we had major technical issues with it where everything worked out great. I wasn’t even planning to have them be interviewed in person here in the office.

But one thing kind of led to the other. We ended up back here. They were one of the first interviews I ever had that was live. And in doing so, I did not plug everything in quite properly and everything did not turn out great audio wise. So I had to go through, fix it all.

And we still came out with something that I think is still listenable. So I’ll go and listen to their podcast. This is also the longest interview that I’ve had up until now.

I honestly think it’s one of the best interviews that we’ve had up till now. That’s not from the interviewer perspective, but from the guest perspective they had so much depth, and because we had two people, they we’re going back and forth along with their story and covering how all these things tie back into business in very subtle ways.

But I have a little commentary on the end pointing out the things that are think are most important. And one of them is the concept of an information business. Now this isn’t going to ruin anything for the podcast.

What you want to do is go and listen to it because they talk about how they started out as a product business. So their business is called Ferment Works. You go and check it out. Its ferment.works and you can listen to the podcast by clicking on the link here in the description.

So check out the description, you can see the link, and if you happen to be watching on Instagram or listening on a podcast, go to offthegridbiz.com and you can go and find their podcast. It’s a few episodes behind from where we are at today and so it’s from August 1st.

They had started fermenting vegetables, fermenting different things and selling things like Sauerkraut and selling them at the local farmer’s markets and so forth. And had built up quite a good size business to the point that they started getting orders from larger companies.

When they ended up getting an order from whole foods market of all places. They had to make a decision of are we going to go in this end of business, do we want to keep going this direction and change our lives this dramatically or do we want to keep some of our lifestyle while at the same time using the vehicle that we’ve already built to be able to do something different?

It’s a really, really, really interesting concept. Then a lot of people don’t think about they want to build up their business, but they oftentimes people don’t stop going in a certain direction until it’s too late and then they’re stuck and then they have a tough time.

I think they pulled the trigger at just the right time to switch their business from being a hard product business to an information based business. So, so, so interesting how they go through that discussion. Talk about all the challenges that you deal with in today’s information business. because it’s not easy either.

You think, “well your just providing information, how to and so forth.” Yeah. But it has a lot of advantages over a hard product business, but it has a whole lot of issues that you have to think about that you wouldn’t normally think about otherwise.

And there’s something for you to think about if you’ve got a hard product business, if you’ve got any type of business that provides people, a specific hard product, I always suggest looking at adding an information end to your business or at least using information for your marketing.

There’s a whole bunch of reasons why we talk a lot about that on that episode. And we talked about that on these other episodes of this show of the Brian J Pombo Live.

So check out the past episodes when we talk about that and we’re going to discuss more about in the future about how you could do that more with your business. Now, if you have an information business, there’s also a way to create hard products for that. One of them, for example, it may seem obvious, but hard books. Especially if you’re doing information online, giving people something physical that they can take home with them that they can, they could hold in their hands.

It adds another dimension to your business that may not currently be there if you’re already in the digital information business. So they’ve written hard books, published books.

They’re published through Storey Publishing and we’ve discussed them before. They also published a Hentopia and a couple others that we’ve discussed before. Beautiful books. I bought one at the Mother Earth News Fair. They were there.

I got to see them, got to see them present live, which some of the best presenters. I mean just honest, out of all the presenters I saw, they’re some of the most professional and direct and just on top of it, confident presenters that I’ve ever seen. They’re the power couple. Okay. You go and look that up in the in the dictionary and you’ll find their picture. Very cool people, I hope they’ll allow me to talk to him again in the future.

Even despite the technical difficulties because there’s so much that you could learn from them and I know I learned something, so go and check that out.

Tomorrow we’re going to be talking about another interview from, from another speaker and a completely different type of speaker too, and it has to do with customer service and you’re going all on customer service. I mean, come on.

What is there to customer service? There’s another angle to customer service that you may not be thinking about. We’re going to be talking about it tomorrow and it applies to everybody’s business. So we’ll see you tomorrow. And in the meantime….oh, I almost forgot.

Be Sooo Good.

Hi I’m Brian Pombo, welcome back to the Orange Office in Grants Pass Oregon today. The kind of headline of this video is Be Sooo Good.

It’s the beginning of a quote from one of my favorite quotes from Steve Martin, the a comedian, actor, playwright, so forth. And it’s, “Be so good they can’t ignore you.”

This is great career advice across the board. It really does say a whole lot and we could go on and on about that quote and what it means to you and your business. But I, for some reason it popped in my mind when I thought of this lady.

This is Janice Cox. Janice, I got to interview a couple of weeks ago, I think it was a couple of weeks ago. All the days are starting to run together here because we’ve been running around so crazy. I’ll get to that in a second.

I just drove back into town from, from the Albany area. I was in Corvallis last night as you, you may recall if you were watching the videos then I was in Corvallis, Oregon. We were in Albany, Oregon for yesterday, the day before for the Mother Earth News Fair, which happens once a year in this area, and also happens at five other places across the United States.

One of the huge influences that got me to go there was this lady right here. This is Janice Cox. When we decided we were going to go, we started interviewing…especially the speakers. Lot of the speakers and people involved with the Mother Earth News Fair.

This was somebody that we talked to and it was great because she was local. So it was one of my first live interviews that I got to do one on one right here in the Orange Office.

A unintentional outlet always ends up here. It’s not a, it’s a horrible place for interviews. We’ve got a really bad echo here. We had the Shockey’s here, a Kirsten & Christopher Shockey , a fermentation fame, which I’ll talk about them later because they had a fabulous talk that was very badly recorded by myself.

They were the first ones I spoke with, but I spoke with Janice after them. We got the recording good. It’s a great episode of the Off the Grid Biz Podcast. You could reach that in the description below, above, wherever you’re watching this. You could see that.

Or you can go to offthegridbiz.com and type in Janice Cox and you can listen to her interview. It’s a nice, nice little quick one and she’s just straight forward. Here’s why the quote reminded me of Janice. It’s not because she is super knowledgeable about what she does, she totally is.

It’s not because she’s an entertaining speaker. I got to see her speak here this last weekend. Yeah, she’s great.

It’s because she’s really a good person and for some reason it kind of hit that quote hit me when I thought of her because she just comes off very genuine. Very good. Very happy and she’s just having a great time with life and it kind of spreads throughout everything she does.

She also connects people. She connected me up with a whole lot of people, pretty indirectly. She mentioned me to people before I even met them one-on-one. So they said, you know, Janice was just talking to me about you. This happened multiple times over the weekend folks.

I only met her once, but I think we connected and everything worked out well. And you know, there’s just a whole lot of great people that we met over the weekend.

Janice is one of them. Go and listen to her story. She specializes in natural beauty, so natural beauty products, things that you can do on your own in a very natural way that makes you not have to go out and buy a bunch of chemicals and stuff and slap that on your face and do all those things.

So she’s also an expert in lavender, which I learned a whole bunch of things going to a talk from her all about lavender that I never thought I would know before. Now I’m seeing it everywhere.

I’m seeing physically lavender everywhere. I’m seeing people talk about lavender. It’s this whole thing, did you know. Go and check out, go check out that episode on Off the Grid Biz. You can also check out her books. I mentioned her earlier because she gave me this just great gift basket of stuff, including her two of her books.

These are just two of them. A natural beauty from the garden and natural beauty for all seasons. Great books. And so go check that out. I’m trying to promote a different podcast, every other time or so that we get together here in the Orange Office.

So come back tomorrow we’re going to be talking about another one and it’s going to be a good one. We got a whole lot of other things that we’re going to be going over this coming week, including a stack of stuff that I brought from the fair that I love to run over with you.

Some very interesting people that I got to meet that hopefully we’ll get to interview in the future and we’ll be talking about business. In ways that you can, do better in your business, grow things out if you have already have a successful business, especially if you’re in the self-reliance field.

The type of people that go to the Mother Earth News Fair, all deal in a very similar areas of self-reliance. And if you’re an owner or an executive in self-reliance, you’re someone either I would love to talk to.

Go to DreamBizChat.com. The link is in the description. Go and click on it. Go and check it out. There’s an eight and a half minute video real quick. The watch over there describes what it is. If you’re interested, fill out the application and we’ll see if you qualify to be able to talk with me. So see you in the future. See it tomorrow.

Get out there and let the magic happen.
